On December 20, 2016, Kaplan Fox filed a consumer protection lawsuit against Yahoo! alleging that its recently announced data breaches violate its subscribers’ privacy rights. Plaintiff’s Complaint, filed in federal court in San Jose, California, alleges that Yahoo! failed to maintain adequate data security standards that subjected it to repeated data breaches that compromised its customers’ account information, including passwords and authentication credentials.
